I just saw the E! special about her movies, today and I noticed some sort of ironic things. Well I knew that Heather was close to my age, and it turned out that she was born only 3 months after I was. I also remember as a little girl, that Heather was in those horror movies and that something had actually "taken her" during the making of #3. (I was a very niave 12 year old @ the time, and I'd thought "No way, the ghost got her?!") What I never knew was what was the cause of her death. Anyway, to go back to the part about my grandma. My mother's mom, my Grandma Nofziger certainly had tghe same type of tenacity that Heather apparently had because the last time I saw her, in October 1985, she was more concerned about the health and welfare of her husband, my Grandpa Nofziger, and never mentioned any health concerns she might've had. In November 1985, both of my grandparents went on a mission trip w/their church to Mississippi. They were only supposed to stay a week, but suddenly grandma got sick so they took her to a hospital which gave her a laxitive. That was the wrong thing because then she got worse and was admitted to a hospital in that area. She stayed there and steadily got worse, had to be fed by IV, and even my mother made a rare trip to Mississippi to see her mom in the hospital. Sadly the doctors discovered too late that grandma's problem was that her bowel/large intestine had burst which caused poison to spread and combined with the internal bleeding, she finally died on December 26, 1985 at the age of 65, after only a month in the hospital. When I heard about Heather's unusual death, which was so similar to how my grandma died, plus Heather's birthdate, which was almost exactly 10 yrs. before my grandma died, I found it too ironic. Also very sad and shocking too. :'( |

Glo Wow that is really sad that your Grandma suffered a similar demise to Heather. I imagine that some internal conditions are harder than others to diagnose in time and I imagine that the condition your Grandma and Heather had isn't exactly common. It is a bizarre coincidence about the two dates as well. It's great to hear all the different stories and memories on this board even if they are sad at times. |
