Hi all,I was wondering this, and I know other people have to,but are there any foundations,or groups dedicated to finding a cure,or at least helping people get adequate treatment for loved ones who have what killed Heather? I know Celia asked this on the memorial site, and it got me into thinking the same thing, and would like to know if anyone heard of anything like a group,or foundation starting to help people with the illness,or disease that killed our Heather,so if you do,please let us know, thanks!

Horrorfan, the disease that killed Heather was known back then. I Graduated in Radiologic Technology back in 1983 and we already knew about intestinal stenosis and the dangers of bowel obstruction. The only cure is surgery. Heather didn't died from lack of knowledge but from incompetent.
As for groups or foundations that you or anyone else would like to support or make donations to there is a children research hopital called St. Jude.http://www2.stjude.org
This group not only use your donations to help research but also to help financed the treatment of childrens who's parents couldn't otherwise afford. This is something I think Heather would really like us to do for her.

Cool.Yes,I do remember that the reason she died was because they misdiagnosed her disease, until it was too late, but I was just more interested if there was a foundation,or group in Heather's name to make sure that diseases like the one that claimed Heather's life will be better diagnosed, or to help out families who had someone die due to a misdiagnosed illness, maybe to help them get some money from the doctors that misdiagnosed their illness,or something like that.Well, thanks for the tip about St.Jude's,and if anyone hear's of other charities like it,that we could donate to,let us know, thanks!
